Fernando Ortiz, CFP®
Fernando Ortiz, CFP® is a Senior Investment Adviser with StanCorp Investment Advisers. He began his career as a securities broker with a large national firm in 1987. In 1992, he joined TIAA-CREF as a personal financial consultant and later became a wealth management adviser to university retirement plan participants. In addition to his professional duties, from 2001 to 2004, Fernando was an adjunct professor of financial planning at Oakland University. He has been a featured speaker with the Financial Planning Association of Michigan “Speaker’s Bureau,” and has participated in developing test questions for the national Certified Financial Planner Exam, through the Certified Financial Board of Standards. He has also been an instructor for financial classes at Daimler-Chrysler. Fernando has the Certified Financial Planning, CFP®, designation and is a member (and past board member) of the Financial Planning Association of Michigan.
