Fernando Ortiz, CFP®

Fer­nando Ortiz, CFP^® is a Senior Invest­ment Adviser with Stan­Corp Invest­ment Advis­ers. He began his career as a secu­ri­ties bro­ker with a large national firm in 1987. In 1992, he joined TIAA-CREF as a per­sonal finan­cial con­sul­tant and later became a wealth man­age­ment adviser to uni­ver­sity retire­ment plan par­tic­i­pants. In addi­tion to his pro­fes­sional duties, from 2001 to 2004, Fer­nando was an adjunct pro­fes­sor of finan­cial plan­ning at Oak­land Uni­ver­sity. He has been a fea­tured speaker with the Finan­cial Plan­ning Asso­ci­a­tion of Michi­gan “Speaker’s Bureau,” and has par­tic­i­pated in devel­op­ing test ques­tions for the national Cer­ti­fied Finan­cial Plan­ner Exam, through the Cer­ti­fied Finan­cial Board of Stan­dards. He has also been an instruc­tor for finan­cial classes at Daimler-Chrysler. Fer­nando has the Cer­ti­fied Finan­cial Plan­ning, CFP®, des­ig­na­tion and is a mem­ber (and past board mem­ber) of the Finan­cial Plan­ning Asso­ci­a­tion of Michigan.
